Chinese Scented Candle, Bamboo Scented
The Song Dynasty was a golden age of Chinese painting. Emperor Huizong of Song (Zhao Ji) established an Imperial Painting Academy to cultivate artistic talent, elevating the status of painters to an unprecedented height in Chinese history. An accomplished painter himself, Huizong left behind more than twenty surviving works, the highest number attributed to any Northern Song artist.
His work, “Bamboo and Birds,” depicts lush bamboo growing freely along a cliffside, with birds perched quietly on the branches.
The painting masterfully combines ink wash and fine-line color techniques, showcasing delicate brushwork and vivid expression. It is considered one of the finest examples of Northern Song court-style bird-and-flower painting.

Instructions For Use
- For the first burn, it is recommended to let the candle burn continuously for 2–3 hours, allowing the entire surface to melt evenly before extinguishing.
- For each subsequent use, burning for at least 1 hour is advised.
- This helps maintain a smooth, even wax pool, preventing tunneling or uneven edges from forming on the candle surface.
Precautions
- While the candle is burning, do not touch the metal lid directly to avoid burns. After extinguishing the flame, allow the metal lid to cool completely before handling.
- Candles are not edible. Keep out of reach of children and pets.
- Use in a safe environment. Keep away from flammable or explosive materials.
- Climate sensitivity: Surface crystallization, essential oil separation, or slight softening may occur due to climate changes—this is normal and does not affect usage.
- Temperature fluctuations: Small cracks may appear on the surface under significant temperature differences; this is a normal physical reaction and does not affect performance.
- Ceramic is fragile. Handle with care to avoid breakage.
- Storage: Keep in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
